Since pulling her bag off the conveyor belt at the local airport nine years ago in Lanai, Hawaii, Jordanne has been a self-sustained plein-air artist creating original artwork for everyone who shares her passion for and vision of Hawaii. Before coming to Lanai, Jordanne interned with Milton Glaser (created the I LOVE NY logo) in NYC and studied with Maestro Silvano Campeggi (illustrated movie posters such as Casablanca, Gone with the Wind and GiGi) in Florence, Italy. Now, her home is on both islands of Maui and Lanai, creating new pieces of work to capture these islands unique beauty and captivating history
Over five years ago, Jordanne saved a historic 1930s gas station in Lanai from being torn down by renovating the inside for her Studio/Gallery and then painting a building wide mural that depicts an artists journey of Lanai. She works with oils, acrylic with gold leaf and watercolor. Jordanne is known for her paintings of plantation homes, bouquet arrangements and signature gold-leaf pineapple paintings.
Recently, Jordanne has opened The Jordanne Gallery in Makawo, Maui which welcomes the viewer to experience primarily Jordannes Maui Plein-Air paintings and also brings a connection with the two islands of Maui and Lanai. When she is not painting around the islands or in her two Studio/Gallerys greeting visitors, she can be found showcasing her work (2003-present) at the two Four Seasons Resorts, Lanai at Manele Bay and The Lodge at Koele. She has had articles written by publications such as Travel and Leisure magazine in 2009 and 2010, HoloHolo Island Air Magazine in 2008, Maui Arts and Culture 2008 and Art Guide Maui 2006-2010.
She has traveled around the world painting captured moments. Recently, she has painted in Tuscany, Cinque Terre, and Provence, France learning new techniques. The newest technique is oil on paper which is then mounted using rabbit skin glue onto a piece of wood to create an archival finished painting that can be framed without glass.
Living art is who Jordanne is and she is constantly expanding and creating new pieces. She opens her heart and expresses with paint her feelings from the vision that gets created in her head from her reaction to seeing a specific moment of life. Whether you are a seasoned Maui visitor or an island first timer, let the artwork of Jordanne take you to a place of majestic splendor and enchanting beauty. Google PR -
